BILL BLOG Tuesday March 11, 2025   Tuesday morning in Music City USA. And man has Spring done sprung. 78 for a high today in Nashville.   YESTERDAY Monday turned out to be a day of re-charging after a long road trip over this past weekend to Texas and back with Linda Davis and Lang Scott for those two “Evening in the Round” shows we did. I knew I was tired but didn’t know HOW tired until I woke up from a 4-hour nap yesterday. Geez.     I also spent part of Monday working on three different songs that I’ve written with veterans for Freedom Sings USA. More on that at the end of today’s Blog.   IDOL My wife and I sat on the couch last night and watched the first round of auditions on American Idol. Carrie Underwood is a judge this year with Luke Bryan and Lionel Ritchie . BILL BLOG Monday March 10, 2025   Monday morning and I’m back home in Nashville and my clock has moved forward. Warmer temperatures have also arrived, and we’ll have a high of 68 degrees with the sun today and then almost 80 degrees for a high tomorrow!   THE WEEKEND Friday I was in Crockett, Texas for the first time. Yep… Davy Crockett was here. Linda Davis , Lang Scott and I were in Crockett for a show on Saturday night and we saw a lot of Crockett around the town including the Davy Crockett bar.   Yep, complete with the rifle and coonskin cap above the bar. And I knew we were in true TEXAS bar when the sport that was on the TV was not baseball, basketball, hockey, or football. It was rodeo.   Love that. BILL BLOG Friday March 7, 2025   Friday morning and I’m in Crockett, Texas. It will be mostly sunny with a high of 78 here in east Texas today!     YESTERDAY It was a long drive from Nashville to Crockett, Texas yesterday. We left around 7:15 AM and got into our hotel room last night around 7:15 pm. I was in great company though with Linda Davis and Lang Scott . We often joke that the REAL shows take place inside the car. Yesterday was no exception.   We are settled in and ready for our soundcheck at about 4 pm tonight before our “Evening in the Round” show tonight at Bear Hall at 7:30 pm.   SONG OF THE DAY Today I’m selecting a song by Australian artist TC Cassidy “ Love Hate Love Again ”. It’s an up-tempo fun song from an idea I shared with producer-writer Angus Gill who was looking for an up-tempo song for TC. Angus, who lives in the States now, but was in Australia at the time. BILL BLOG Thursday March 6, 2025  Thursday morning and once again bags are packed and ready for a road trip. This time to Texas. A shorter than normal Blog this morning because of the departure time being so early.   It was flat-out cold and windy in Nashville yesterday. Winter’s last roar maybe before we get into Spring and baseball season!   Today’s high in Music City will be 50 degrees.   YESTERDAY Last night I hooked up with Darin & Brooke Aldridge online. They’re in Cherryville, North Carolina but it feels pretty much like they are in my office when I pull them up on my computer screen. The two of them are getting ready to hit the Grand Ole Opry stage again. I think they’ve been invited over 50 times by the Opry to perform which is quite the honor to say, the least.   BILL BLOG Wednesday March 5, 2025   It’s another “Hump Day”. 53 for a high today in Nashville with some rain after some high wind that rolled through here yesterday. We’re swerving around tree limbs on the road we live on.   YESTERDAY I wrote with two young talented artists at my publishing company. Lauren Mascitti and I write a lot together, and I write quite a bit with Caroline Owens as well. But yesterday was the first time the three of us collaborated on something together.   Lauren brought a cool idea with her and we beat that up for several hours before scheduling another day to try and finish the song up.   Lauren is working on a beach album of all things, and Caroline is getting ready to release a new bluegrass project. She has the number one song on the bluegrass charts right now “ The Healing Kind ” so the three of us celebrated that a bit yesterday in the writer’s room.
