Georgia Show Tonight...Hula Poppers...Accupuncture

BILL BLOG Friday March 21, 2025   And a good Friday morning to you from southern Georgia. 66 for the high today after having frost warnings here in the deep south last night. It got down to 39 degrees last night in Americus.    I'm in the eastern time zone today so this blog is loading up a little earlier than normal today.   YESTERDAY Our Evening in the Round trio with Linda Davis , Lang Scott and myself drove from Nashville to the southern Georgia city of Americus. Columbus, Georgia would be the biggest city near Americus. Population 15,000 or so. It was a 6-and-a half-hour drive over about 400 miles. The miles flew by though as the conversation on the road always helps shorten the drives.   We saw a lot of wide-open farm country and red dirt clay, especially when we rolled into the Peach State. And this is the historic hotel we’re staying in.   The Windsor Hotel was originally built in 1888 and was lovingly rebuilt in t...

Georgia Road Trip...Opry Celebration...AI Ordering

BILL BLOG Thursday March 20, 2025   Thursday morning, the guitar is zipped up in its case, ready for a road trip to Georgia.   A storm blew through last night with 75 mph winds for a bit and we were without power for about an hour or so. After being in the 70s yesterday, today’s high will be just 46 degrees with some rain. However, it will be a 62-degree high in Americus, Georgia, where I’m headed later this morning.   And it’s the first day of Spring!   YESTERDAY I wrote a fun song with Adam Pope who’s married to Amy . The two of them are a duo that travels and sings all over the country. And they take their two young kids with them wherever they go and somehow make all that work. I admire that for sure.     Those two are recording a new album right now that will have a couple of songs on it that Adam and I wrote together. I got to hear the rough mix on those yesterday and they sound great. Our mutual friend Darin Al...

Throwback Video...Bunch of Vets...Georgia Trip

BILL BLOG Wednesday March 19, 2025   A Wednesday “Hump Day” is on us. Mid 70’s today in Music City with rain and possible storms the next couple of days. And Spring officially arrives tomorrow.   It’s also a packing day for another road trip…this one to Georgia. More on that at the end of today’s Blog.      YESTERDAY I had an early writing session with my Maryland friend Rick Lang who is in town for the week co-writing songs with folks like me. Rick has the #1 gospel bluegrass song on the charts right now “Everyday Blessings”. And Rick has had a lot of his songs go to the top of the charts. His album full of songs sung by various artists “Gonna Sing Gonna Shout” was nominated for a Grammy a few years ago. And his current album “Blue Collar Gospel” has received a ton of critical acclaim and airplay as well.   And yesterday before we sat down Rick texted me something he’d seen on the internet that he thought we could turn in...

St. Patrick Writing...Shows Coming Up...Mascots

BILL BLOG Tuesday March 18, 2025   Tuesday morning. Time to put the green beer away for another year. After being in the low 50’s yesterday we’ll have sunshine and the temperature will reach 75 degrees today in Nashville.   YESTERDAY I spent part of St. Patrick’s Day writing with Thomm Jutz , who is preparing to play for 10 days in Ireland. Not that I’m jealous mind you! Caroline Owens who is a young talented bluegrass artist who records for Billy Blue Records also joined us in Thomm’s home studio and brought a great title that we turned into a new song.   Love the new song and it’s one that Caroline will put on her consideration pile as she’s stacking up songs for her new album out soon. I’m blessed to have one song on the project already and it wouldn’t hurt my feeling to have two!   I found out yesterday that one of Caroline’s hobbies other than singing, writing, playing, and fishing is making ink pens. She showed me and Thomm...
