Happy Friday! 32 degrees right now with a high in Nashville today of 43 before dipping to a cold 25 later this evening. Time to put the trap door up.
YESTERDAY
Anyone else still in a turkey coma after yesterday? My wife and I sat at a long Turkey table with the Scott family and some great friends. We could not have been in better company so thank you Chris & Hillary and Lang and Linda for inviting us.
We certainly missed seeing our daughter Heather again this year and her husband Casey who are stationed overseas with the Army right now. But we were surrounded by people we love. I hope each of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day as well.
SONG OF THE DAY
Today I’m sharing a song I wrote with Paul Bogart about
his youngest daughter Gentry. Paul lives out in Oklahoma…a real deal cowboy
George Strait singing son of a gun. The two of us wrote a song for both of his
sons that he recorded, and then when his youngest came along…a baby girl…Paul
wanted to write a song for her as well and invited me to help. Check out "While She's Mine".
And since I’m a Dad to an only child…a daughter…it wasn’t too tough for me to relate to Paul’s feelings when we wrote this.

HEALTH NOTES
A Doctor listed 4 Thanksgiving foods that could give you heart failure.. Stuffing, honey glazed ham, green bean casserole, and alcohol. (Now they tell us!)
Treehouse Foods is recalling frozen waffles and pancake products sold at Walmart and Whole Foods because of listeria concerns.
The CDC reports that vaccination rates for flu and COVID are low this season. 35% of Americans have received a flu shot and only 18% rolled up their sleeve for COVID shot.

THEM AND US
Check out this two story motor home owned by actor Will Smith worth 2.5 million dollars.
Who knew they made a two story mobile home? 1,200 square feet with a 32 seat cinema! Take a little tour here if you’d like. You’ll see it’s a tad fancier than the motor home I once owned.
A BIG TIME MEETING
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg had a meeting with President elect Donald Trump. I can only hope that Trump was meeting with him to get him to stop all those danged t-shirt notices that are never ending! I hope.
DOLLY
A Wide Open Country article reveals that Dolly Parton can be a tough boss…and that she fires a lot of band members. Dolly says, “I can’t work with squirrels, dope addicts or drunks.” Not that all band members are fired for those reasons but Dolly has not achieved all she’s achieved by not being a perfectionist and wanting only the best.
Although…if I were to start a new band I might very well name it “The Squirrels.”
FLORIDA PANTHERS
It’s not just Grandma getting run over these days. In Florida some 30 panthers…an endangered species have been killed by drivers hitting them. Not something we see here in Tennessee. Deer yes…panthers…not so much.
HERE’S YOUR BILLBOARD
So ladies if you’re looking…
