Golden Guitar Awards...Comedy Songwriting Class...Ding Dongs

BILL BLOG Friday January 24, 2025   Friday morning…ready for the weekend! A high of 35 in Nashville today. Meanwhile there’s a winter storm warning across 6 states with as much as 30 inches of snow on the way.   YESTERDAY The big highlight of my day was grocery shopping with my wife. The difference in grocery shopping between me and her is significant. My wife will SHOP…me….I just fly down the aisle grabbing things. My wife can stare at an item and a label forever…I don’t know that I’ve ever read a label. She’s completely healthy…me…not so much. There are items of food in our pantry that I don’t recognize or have a clue what they are. But if it’s healthy…she’ll eat it.   Health food for me is a six day old Krispy Kreme donut that’s been half eaten.   And God help us when my wife sends me to shop by myself. I can never find everything on the list without calling home once or twice and asking, “where is the dark chocolate hummus at in this ...

Mo Mo Again..."More Country Than You"...Reliable Cars

BILL BLOG Thursday January 23, 2025   Thursday morning in Music City USA. Still cold here but warming up some today. A high of 44 on tap.   But meanwhile in Florida…   And in California high winds have whipped up another massive wildfire that some fire experts predict “could go nuclear.” Just what they don’t need out there.   YESTERDAY My wife and I celebrated some good personal news at the Whyte House yesterday. We marked the end of little journey I’ve been on for a couple of months that ended…and that’s a really good thing. Feeling blessed and grateful for sure. I try to remember to count my blessings more and more these days. And I’ve certainly had my share of those.   Some of those blessings have been music related. Like this next one.   CHART NEWS The Mountain Bluegrass Gospel Chart is out for the week and I’m happy to see two songs I’m part of still up near the top of this chart. Country Faith by Kristen ...

Southern Snow...Colorado Trip...Super Bowl Stuff

BILL BLOG Wednesday January 22, 2025   Middle of a cold week…Wednesday…all day long. But we don’t have the snow as some beaches have all the way down south like in Gulf Shores and other locations. Florida, Louisiana and Texas all snow covered. Heck, they turned a New Orleans street into a hockey arena!   And the Flora-Bama that I’ve played at many times looks like this right now.  And then there’s this guy in Louisiana making great use of his airboat.   In Nashville? It’s 5 above zero starting today’s Blog. A high of just 33 today.   YESTERDAY It was a day to stay indoors out of the cold for the most part so I spent some time pitching some songs to some gospel acts who are looking for songs right now. I booked a little time in the sun at the end of February that I’m looking forward to and I booked a songwriter festival in June.  COLORADO SHOWS I’ll be playing at the 2 nd Annual Grand Mesa Songwriter Festival thi...

Back Home...Carolina Memories...Bluebird Shows

BILL BLOG Tuesday January 21, 2025   Tuesday morning and I’m back home in Nashville where it do be cold. 7 degrees as I’m starting the Blog this morning with a high of just 24.   Meanwhile down in my favorite vacation place…Gulf Shores, Alabama could see snow…New Orleans as well. Yikes. "Let to cold times roll!"   YESTERDAY I got back home around noon time on a Southwest non-stop from Myrtle Beach to Nashville with my friends Linda Davis and Lang Scott .  A little delay but not bad. A couple of us got a Chik fil A fuel up fix at the Myrtle Beach Airport. Nothing like ordering a chicken sandwich with a guitar strapped on your back.   And I’ve got to say, I’ve never seen these kinds of chairs in an airport terminal. Kind of cool…telling you in a way that you’re at the beach.   And the airport also has this! Hey...dog's gotta go too y'all.   We certainly enjoyed every bit of the Carolina run. From the ocean vie...
