Blast on the Bay...Mo Mo...Haunted House

BILL BLOG Friday, October 2, 2026   It’s Friday, and the first weekend of October is here. 85-degree high today in Nashville, and we might see a little rain, something we have not seen in a very long while.   YESTERDAY Thursday was a day for working ahead, pitching some songs, and catching up on stuff.    BLAST ON THE BAY My schedule for this year’s Blast on the Bay Songwriters Festival in Port St. Joe arrived, a great songwriters fest on the Gulf Coast. Here’s what I have as of now.   Thursday, October 15 is a private event to kick off the festival complete with music, and my favorite thing, a big ole shrimp boil near the water.     Friday, October 16 I’ll play at Taproot at 3 pm with songwriters Jerry Salley , Will and Barry Hutchens .     Saturday, October 17 I’ll be at Scallop Republic at 5 pm with songwriters Jerry Salley , Jeff Silvey , Dana Hunt Black .      Sunday, October 18 I’m at t...

Comedy Club Night...New Beach Songs...Dolly Cup

BILL BLOG Thursday, October 1, 2026   It’s Thursday, as well as being the very first day of October. That sure got here in a hurry, didn’t it?   We are expecting a 90-degree high today in Music City, before it starts cooling down over the next few days.   YESTERDAY Last night I was at Zanie’s Comedy Club here in town to root on a friend of mine, Angus Gill who was making his comedy club debut. It was nice to see a great crowd turnout for it. Angus invited me and another funny guy Joe Denim to be part of his show last night.   Joe and I each got up and did 10 or 15 minutes of “funny,” but the show was all about Angus who did so good.  Standup, especially the first time can scare the heck out of you. I remember the first time I ever did it was in Cincinnati at the Funnybone Comedy Club .
