BILL BLOG Thursday August 28, 2025   Thursday it is. 84 degrees high here in Music City today, and we have a couple of 90-degree high days on tap again. So, Fall is not quite hear yet…so pull the pumpkin-flavored everything off the shelves.   YESTERDAY My writing session was with Jerry Salley and Kristy Cox . Jerry is the head guy at Billy Blue Records, and he’s written and produced Kristy’s records for a long while. Award-winning records in Australia, where Kristy is from originally. The two of them are writing and stacking up songs for her next project, which should be released late this year or early next year. Both of them have been on the road quite a bit. In fact, Kristy is just back from a tour in Ireland.   We compared pictures and notes as both of us love the Emerald Isle. BILL BLOG Wednesday August 27, 2025    It’s Wednesday, and it’s the last “Hump Day” in the month of August. It got down to 49 cool degrees in Nashville last night. 80 will be the high today.   YESTERDAY My songwriting session was with Andrea Pearson , just back from visiting her old home place in Vancouver with her Mom and sister. Canadian…yep…but has been in the States now for a long while. Andrea is truly a gifted singer, and often finds herself on stage singing background with some of the biggest stars. Here’s an EXAMPLE of her singing...with Vince Gill .      It’s always a treat catching up with this Mom of two little girls and writing something new. And yesterday she brought a really cool idea with her to the writing room that we chased. BILL BLOG Tuesday August 26, 2025    Tuesday morning, and we’re getting closer to the end of August…already. The temperatures are cooler. As I begin the blog early this Tuesday morning, it’s just 53 degrees. We’ll hit a high of 80 today in Nashville with sunshine.   YESTERDAY I spent some time in the recording studio with A ngus Gill , singing background vocals on a song we wrote for a young female artist, which will be part of a six-song EP she will release soon. Angus has moved over to the States now and is producing some American artists after producing a long list of hitmakers in Australia. Talented young man for sure. And it’s always fun working with him in any creative way. He had me singing some bass parts, lead parts, and harmony parts on this song titled “I Don’t Miss You Much”. BILL BLOG Monday August 25, 2025    Hello Monday. A little cooler this week in Nashville! High of 88 today, and no 90-degree days all week. We’ll take it.   Meanwhile, South Carolina had a “swarm” of earthquakes over the weekend. At least 7 were recorded registering 1.3 to 3.0 on the old Richter. Admittedly, I know nothing about seismic anything. But I know a “swarm” of anything is never good.   THE WEEKEND Friday morning wrote a fun “quirky” tune with Angus Gill and Wil Nance , the first time the three of us have rhymed together. Angus brought the idea and wanted to write something a little off the well-worn path for his next album, which he’s getting ready to record.   Think along the lines of “ Red Solo Cup ” by Toby Keith , and you’ll have a little feel for the direction the song went. I love writing left of center, as most of you know, and Wil’s really good at that as well. It was a really fun day inside Wil’s writing cab...
