It’s Cinco De Mayo! Time to salt a rim and pour a Margarita.
Just a high of 63 in Music City today, with some light rain in the forecast.
YESTERDAY
I wrote a patriotic song yesterday with Brian White & Andrea Pearson out at Brian’s miniature farm.
Normally, Brian will give each of us a dozen eggs after our write, but he’s lost three of his free-range chickens due to chicken hawks. Yikes. No yolk!
Brian knows of a TV project looking for patriotic songs from songwriters to help celebrate America’s 250th birthday. I have a feeling that the producers will love this song we wrote, but we’ll find out for sure by the end of this month. Fingers crossed.
SONG OF THE DAY
Here’s a song from Kristy Cox that I wrote with her and her producer, Jerry Salley, titled “Dirt Road”. This is a song about unplugging from the world and getting back to basics that Kristy included on her “Back to Blue” album.
The song says,
It seems the whole world has gone crazy
Everywhere I look, it’s a mess
So lately I’ve been thinking baby
Maybe we should get an RFD address
HEALTH NOTES
Some patients have remained cancer-free for nearly 3 years after receiving experimental immunotherapy.
A poll of 2,000 adults finds that over half obsess over food (65%) and health and fitness (55%).
Experts claim that just 10 minutes daily of a floor-based workout could improve balance and agility.
HERE’S YOUR SIGN
I’ve been trying very hard not to let my “dumb” hold me back.
EXPENSIVE PETS
The cost of owning a dog these days is so expensive that they have a word for that. It’s “Petflation.” The cost of food, vets, pretty much everything related to keeping Fido alive and healthy has gone so high that we now have “Petflation.”
Experts claim that the first-year cost of owning a dog now averages between $1,500 and $4,000.
FUNNY
From the Babylon Bee folks who write all those funny fake headlines.
“Relationship experts say an engagement ring should cost at least two tanks of gas.”
WKRP
I’m not sure why this took so long to happen. Someone finally acquired the
radio call letters of WKRP, and there is now a WKRP Radio in Cincinnati. It
will mostly feature music from the 70’s, staying true to the TV show image.
Many times when I tell people I worked in radio in Cincinnati, their comeback was the predictable, “Oh, did you work at WKRP?” No, but thanks for asking.
I loved that TV show. So funny.
“As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.”
DON’T LOOK AT THE PUMP
The national average price of gas is now $4.45 per gallon. The good news is that Target is offering discount prices on walking shoes. Geez.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
From E.E. Cummings:
“The most wasted days is one without laughter.”
TODAY
Just a little luncheon meeting today, looking at some shows ahead for the rest of the year and into 2027. Good to be busy.
Have a great Tuesday!
