BILL BLOG
Tuesday October 28, 2025
Tuesday morning in Music City. Just a 58-degree high for Nashville today with some rain. The lows are going to dip down into the 30s before the week’s end.
All eyes on Jamaica this morning as Melissa is bearing down as a Cat 5 hurricane.
YESTERDAY
I’ve got a couple of days off…yesterday being one of those. After being gone from home for 10 days on the road, I needed to catch up on stuff and look ahead at what’s coming just ahead. Here’s the schedule.
Wednesday evening, October 29, I’ll play an event for Mercy Chefs with my friends Linda Davis, Lang Scott, and Bobby Tomberlin. A private event.
Saturday night, November 1, I’m in Pulaski, Tennessee, for a red-carpet Freedom Sings event with Steve Dean, Bill DiLuigi, and Bobby Tomberlin.
Tuesday, November 4th, I’ll be in Durham, North Carolina, for a showcase with “Evening in the Round” that features Linda Davis, Lang Scott, and me. Also, a private event.
Friday, November 7, finds me in Toccoa, Georgia, at the Ritz Theater with Linda Davis and Lang Scott.
Saturday, November 8, I’m back in Gulf Shores for the Frank Brown Songwriters Festival. I have a 12:30 afternoon gig with Brent Burns at Woodside Restaurant.
That same evening, November 8, I play at Lulu’s with “Hits & Grins”, Steve Dean, and Victoria Venier.
Sunday, November 9, I play at the Barometer Waterfront Grill at 11:30 AM with Brent Burns. It’s located on the Intracoastal in Orange Beach.
Sunday, November 9, at the world-famous Florabama Bar with “Hits & Grins” at 7 pm.
Tuesday, November 11, Veterans’ Day, I play a special Veterans Day show for Freedom Sings USA at the Coastal Arts Center in Orange Beach. And this show is always packed, so get there early if you’re coming.
KATRINA VIDEO
Check out this little VIDEO of my Aussie friend Katrina Burgoyne singing “It’s Been A Year,” which we wrote that’s based on the year she had after she and her husband welcomed a little boy into their lives. There are a lot of “ups” and “downs” in that experience, and I think we caught some of those in her new song.
WORLD SERIES
When I went to bed last night, the Dodgers and Blue Jays were tied 4-4. When I woke up this morning, I found out that I missed a “classic” as the game went 18 innings, the longest in World Series history, before Freddy Freeman became the hero…again…with a walk-off HOME RUN. I have GOT to start taking No-Doze when the games go late!
TODAY’S SONG
This is a song that was recorded several years ago by a young artist named Lauren Lizabeth, “Bang My Drum”. I wrote this with her producer Shay Watson, who did a very cool thing by adding a “marching band” near the end of the track. You don’t hear that a lot!
HEALTH NOTES
Researchers at Case Western Reserve University have identified a potential link between the shingles vaccine and a reduced risk of developing vascular dementia.
Research claims that Ozempic and Wegovy might help slow how fast you get drunk.
More than 50,000 blood pressure drugs have been recalled nationwide for possible cancer-causing impurities.
HERE’S YOUR SIGN
What???
SPEAKING OF BABIES
Kelsey Grammer (Frazier) at the age of 70 just became a father to his 8th child. A 4th with his wife Kayte Walsh.
Just reading that made me tired this morning.
BIG BOY
Look who showed up in our backyard yesterday.
We have a LOT of deer in our yard these days, and this guy may be the Father of some of those. You can hang a bunch of hats on that rack.
GETTING BIGGER…AND BIGGER
It’s no secret Nashville is growing at a fast rate. Elon Musk is boring a tunnel to try and help alleviate the unreal traffic we have now. And more proof that we are growing rapidly comes with the news that our airport is going to DOUBLE in size by building a second terminal. We’re going to turn into DFW…and folks will be missing flights because their connecting gate is so far away. Welcome to Music City, folks.
SPEAKING OF TRAFFIC
I never knew why all the traffic signs we see are colored green with white letters until this morning.
In 1950, they took a poll of drivers who said that green signs with white lettering are the most visible. And they’ve found out that green does not fade in color as rapidly as other colors as the sun puts a beating on them. And now I know.
Word is that 183 million email passwords, including millions of Gmail passwords, have been exposed in a massive data leak. Might want to think about changing your old password.
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
This 700-square-foot mobile home just went up for sale. Guess how much they want for it?
3.48 MILLION dollars. And that would be a record. It’s located oceanside in a trailer park in the Hamptons, so there’s a pretty good chance they will get their asking price.
Wonder if the new owners will want to buy one of these snappy t-shirts bearing the title of the SONG Brent Burns and I wrote?
TODAY’S QUOTE
From Theodore Roosevelt.
If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your trouble, you wouldn’t sit for a month”.
TODAY
Nothing big today. I think I’ll look for the replay of that 18 inning World Series game I missed last night.
Have a great Tuesday!
