BILL BLOG Friday, February 27, 2026   It’s Friday morning with the last of February in front of us. Pretty sure I won’t miss February. Bring on March and Spring!   68 will be the high in Music City today, followed by a 75 degree high tomorrow.   YESTERDAY With no writing appointments, I took some time producing the last two songs for my friend Rick Lang for his little AI Trop Rock album that he will give as Christmas presents to friends and family this holiday season. I had a lot of fun putting on a producer’s hat for him, and the songs turned out great and very beachy. These are songs that Rick wrote by himself, with the exception of one song, " Palm Trees Sway " that the two of us wrote. Rick and his wife make numerous trips to warm islands, and the songs on this album reflect that. BILL BLOG Thursday, February 26, 2026   And…it’s Thursday morning. The high temperature today in Nashville will be 60 degrees.   YESTERDAY I was back at my publishing company for the first time in a bit. Finally came out of the flu fog I’d been in for a week, so it felt good to create a new song with my friend Katrina Burgoyne . We wrote something with a little “spice” to it, as that fits her. Katrina is a HUGE Shania Twain fan, so her music leans a little that way, and that’s the direction we chased yesterday.       The Publishing Company was buzzing. All three songwriter rooms were full of talented writers. Jamey Johnson of the award-winning bluegrass group “ The Grascals ” was next door with my buddy Caroline Owens , who just celebrated her birthday!   And in our big Studio A, my friend Jerry Salley was hard at work producing some songs for a new Chuck Wagon Gang album. BILL BLOG Wednesday, February 25, 2026   Here it is, the last “Hump Day” of February. We are expecting a 60-degree high today in Nashville with some rain.   Meanwhile, out east, folks are digging out of a record snowfall. How much? So much that it took a snow-clearing crew 50 hours to clean ONE Target parking lot   So much so that one family in Massachusetts took advantage of the snow and built a gigantic 23-foot snowman!   And…it lights up at night.   YESTERDAY I got back in the writing mode with Jenny Tolman and Dave Brainard yesterday, my first co-write since being down for a week with the flu. A little “normal” felt pretty good.   The two of them are working on a “themed” album that Jenny walked me through. Sort of like a movie, the way she has it laid out in her mind. And we wound up writing a tongue-in-cheek “Game Show” jingle that fits into the sequence of events in this idea. One song will lead to another, and each so...

BILL BLOG Tuesday, February 24, 2026   Hello Tuesday morning. It’s just 22 degrees as I begin this blog this morning, but we’ll reach a high of 49 degrees and then continue to warm up for the rest of the week, eventually hitting 70-degree highs by the weekend.   Meanwhile, the Northeast is buried with record snow in some places. 350,000 folks without power, and we know that feeling here in Music City after the ice storm that rolled through here a couple of weeks ago.   YESTERDAY I had to reschedule a writing appointment yesterday on short notice due to unforeseen circumstances. That opened up my day, and I spent some time producing some AI Trop Rock songs for my co-writer, Rick Lang , who wants these songs to be put on a CD that he can give to family and friends this Christmas. BILL BLOG Monday, February 23, 2026   Made it to Monday morning, preparing for a full week, the LAST week of February. The temperature will only go up to 33 today in Nashville, but then it starts warming up.   And, I’m not in the northeast where 2 inches of snow is falling. New York City already has 250,000 without power. We know that feeling in Nashville after our recent ice storm.     THE WEEKEND Both my wife and I were recovering over the weekend from a week-long bout with the flu, and we’re preparing for her first-ever book signing at a private event this Saturday.   And while that’s going on, our daughter and son-in-law were skiing in France this weekend.   Not a bad life. My daughter’s husband, Casey , is a really good snowboarder, while she probably tumbled down the “bunny hill” a few times, just like her Dad did when he was learning to ski on Sandia Peak a long while ago out in New Mexico.
