Friday morning, and I’ll be on the road to Georgia in a few minutes for a show tonight in Toccoa, Georgia, with Linda Davis and Lang Scott.
69 with rain for a high here in Nashville, with a big-time cold snap showing up by week’s end.
YESTERDAY
I had just a day to relax and redo the laundry for the road trip ahead today, and catch up on just a few things. This is the last longer trip of the year, so I’m going to get a lot more time at home pretty soon. Almost like normal, if you will.
TELLURIDE
Check out my friend Caroline Owens having fun talking about her current #1 song on the Banjo Radio Chart right now.
Her personality comes across big time in this VIDEO. And yeah, it’s not bad getting to celebrate the success of this song with her and my co-writer Andrea Pearson.
I got to visit the town of Telluride, Colorado, a few years ago when I was out in western Colorado with Freedom Sings USA for a songwriter retreat with our veterans. We had the day off and made the trip from Montrose to Telluride. Beautiful, as advertised. I bought this hat.
Pretty sure the visions of that mountain town inspired the title and idea for the song that just went #1 for Caroline.
SONG OF THE DAY
Something different today. I’m choosing the big hit “Ghost In This House” that was a big hit for both Shenandoah and Alison Krauss. However, this version features my friend Sydni Perry singing the lead, with me and Jimmy Fortune, formerly of the Statler Brothers, singing this classic. Pretty cool moment for me just getting to sing a little harmony with these two talented folks.
HEALTH NOTES
Some passengers are suing Carnival Cruise Line, alleging they woke up with more than 30 bites from bed bugs.
A personal trainer suggests that for individuals 50 and older, the most important muscle to strengthen is the glutes. Keeping those in shape helps provide better balance, posture, and mobility.
A study finds that people who consume three or more alcoholic drinks daily may suffer a stroke more than a decade earlier than people who drink less.
HERE’S YOUR SIGN
Never thought about that before.
BEST CITIES
According to “Resonancy Consultancy”, this is the list of Best Cities.
5-Madrid
4-Tokyo
3-Paris
2-New York
And they list London as the Best City in the World.
THEM AND US
Tesla shareholders just agreed to give Elon Musk a 1 TRILLION dollar pay package. Hopefully, he’ll be able to afford gas for his car now…oh…wait.
MORE THEM AND US
Jelly Roll bought a bar in downtown Nashville back in February to add to the many celebrity bars here that folks flock to Nashville to party in. He just listed his “Goodnight Nashville Bar” for 100 MILLION bucks. The company that acquired the property in February and then linked Jelly Roll to it paid $20 million in February.
That would be an 80-million-dollar profit within a few months if it sells for that, and it probably will. That means that “Jelly” really is on a danged Roll.
MICHAEL
There’s a new Michael Jackson movie on the way starring his nephew Jaafar Jackson. Here’s a look at the TEASER.
AI
This just in. AI has replaced a million jobs already this year. More to come. Geez. (Get a degree on how to fix a humanoid robot kids.) We appear to be living in the future right now. Heck, it’s even changed familiar children’s songs.
“Old McDonald had a farm, AI, AI, O.”

TODAY
Time to hit the road to Georgia with Linda Davis and Lang Scott to play at the historic Ritz Theatre tonight, our second time getting to play there.
And then I’ll head south to Gulf Shores where I’ll play 5 shows this year at the Frank Brown Songwriters Festival. Looking forward to being back at one of my favorite places.
Have a great weekend!
