Wednesday morning, and I’m back home in Nashville. Some possible severe storms today in Nashville…all eyes on the skies as that dreaded “T” word is in the forecast…tornado. The high will be 77 today.

YESTERDAY

I was honored that the family of Joe Lewis asked me to say a few words about my longtime friend and former radio buddy. A very loose eulogy, if you will. I shared some really funny stories about my friend, as I knew that the rest of the Catholic service was going to be pretty somber. And my friend was all about making people laugh when he was on the radio, and outside of his radio job as well. So I was happy to hear those who were gathered in the church laughing loudly at some of those funny stories I shared about him.

RIP, Joe.

MUSIC NEWS

My young friend Alex Miller’s new album will be out on Billy Jam Records on April 10, less than one month away, and I’m happy to have the title track, “More Country Than You,” that features Alex and Emily Ann Roberts, as well as another song on the project that Alex and I wrote, “Memories and Gin”.

Here’s a little VIDEO TEASE from Alex talking about the new release. You can pre-order a copy right now.

SONG OF THE DAY

How about a little beach tune this morning? This is Adam and Amy Pope, a great husband and wife singing team, performing “Alabama Coast,” which the three of us wrote. I brought that title with me the day we wrote it, and I think it may have been inspired by my numerous trips to Gulf Shores, Alabama.

HEALTH NOTES

Research confirms that women get worse and less sleep than men, and need more. Hormonal fluctuations throughout the life cycle, menstruation, and menopause all play a significant role in that.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation will work with aviation companies and medical centers to develop and test a network of electric drones and eventually transport people to and from hospitals in rural parts of the state.

In a study published by Nature Medicine, researchers found that older adults taking a daily supplement for two years slowed biological aging by about four months compared to those who didn’t take them.

Say what?!

UBER CHANGE

Women can now order a female Uber driver if they like. The company announced the news during International Women’s Day. Makes good safety-sense, doesn’t it?

LOTS OF POINTS!

An NBA player, Bam Adebayo for the Miami Heat scored 83 points last night for the Miami Heat as they beat the Washington Wizards 150-129. Wow. And that’s the SECOND most scored points by a player in the NBA. Wilt Chamberlain still holds the record with 100 points scored in a game in 1962.

Here are some VIDEO highlights of that 83-point scoring spree from Bam.

HAPPIEST PLACE

According to Wallet Hub, the happiest city in America, once again, is Fremont, California, near Frisco. How much does it cost to be happy?

Well, the median home price in Fremont is $1.47 million. I dunno. I’m thinking that if I have to drop $1.47 million on a house, I wouldn’t be all that happy.

Number two happiest place is Bismarck, North Dakota, followed by Scottsdale, Arizona. South Burlington, Vermont, is number 4 on the happy list, and #5 is Fargo, North Dakota.

Pretty sure it’s a lot cheaper to be happy in Fargo than in Fremont.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

From the late Jack Benny:

I don’t deserve this award, but I have arthritis, and I don’t deserve that either.”

TODAY

I’m writing with two talented young songwriters today, Kennedy Scott

And Victoria Camp.

The two of them play in a trio called “Three Times A Lady”, as well as doing their own individual shows. Something good almost always comes out of the room when we collaborate. Looking forward to seeing what comes out of the session today.

Have a great Wednesday!
