Blessed Thanksgiving...Snowed In Christmas...Wicked Dolls

BILL BLOG Friday November 28, 2025   It’s Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Anyone else stuffed?   It’s a chilly 27 degrees as I begin today’s Blog. The high will be 49 in Nashville today.   YESTERDAY What a wonderful Thanksgiving it was. Mine started with a conference call with my siblings, who are scattered across the country. My brother Gary and his wife Kay are in Florida, Vickie is in the DC-Virginia area, and the youngest Rita is up in Minnesota. It was great hearing that everyone was healthy and doing fine, and all of them, of course, having their own celebrations.   Then my daughter Facetimed me and my wife from Germany. Heather and her husband had taken a little trip to the Bavarian region and sent a little postcard picture.   Yep, it’s snowing there. We missed having them here, but we’re blessed knowing they, too, are well, and of course, we’re proud of Heather’s husband, Casey , who is a pilot in the Army....

Thanksgiving!...Turkey Drop...Best Sides

BILL BLOG Thursday November 27, 2025    Thursday it is…Happy Thanksgiving to you all.   A 45-degree high today in Nashville, down below FREEZING tonight. 27 for the low. And come Monday, they are calling for some light snow.   YESTERDAY I spent a little time pitching a couple of songs, but for the most part, it was all about getting ready for the next day. We’ll be having Thanksgiving Dinner with some wonderful friends who invited us over, as they did last year. So, we have a little tradition going. But my wife and I always want some leftovers, so I picked up turkey and all the fixings at a local place that will give us leftovers for a few days after Turkey Day. No fuss, just heat it. I have a feeling I’ll be taking some turkey naps.   HAPPY BIRTHDAY A belated “Happy Birthday” to my friend, co-writer, and star of our “Evening in the Round” show… Linda Davis , who celebrated yesterday on Turkey Eve. A nicer person would be hard ...

Special Song...French Family Band...Christmas Movie Release

BILL BLOG Wednesday November 26, 2025    Wednesday, and goodness…it’s Thanksgiving Eve!   Sunny with a high of 51 in Nashville today. Thanksgiving night, we’ll be below the freezing mark.   YESTERDAY It’s always a pleasure to write with Andrea Pearson , who’s not only a talented writer but also a gifted vocalist. Such a GREAT singer. She does a ton of background singing for lots of stars, you know, and is in demand for recording sessions. And, she’s a pretty good painter on top of her musical talent. Andrea brought a story with her yesterday, about the loss of a dear friend, and we converted some of her feelings into a new song. I was glad to just be an ear to hear the story and help shape that into the song we came up with yesterday. A pleasure.      LAST NIGHT I went out and listened to the French Family Band perform at the world-famous Station Inn. They’re always so good. Mom Camille , from New Zealand, an...

Family Band Song...2026 Looking Busy...If You Could Read My Mind

BILL BLOG Tuesday November 25, 2025   Tuesday, two days until Turkey Day.   A little rain is falling right now in Nashville, but that will stop soon and give away to cloudy skies and a 67 degree high today.   YESTERDAY I wrote a new gospel-grass song with Kevin Williamson of the Williamson Branch Family Band.   The family is working on a new album that might need a song like that, so we made an effort to try and come up with a song that fits them…and I think we might just have done that. Time will tell…as always.   Kevin and his wife are going to have a big ole Thanksgiving table this year filled with daughters and husbands, and all of them are, for the most part, musical.   And the song we wrote yesterday had to do with being “thankful”, so it was appropriate.   2026 The New Year is shaping up to be very busy with road dates. Several are already logged on my Tour section at the website here. Recently, Linda ...
BILL BLOG Monday November 24, 2025   Monday morning. Start heating the rolls. It’s Thanksgiving week!   We’ve got some dense fog this morning in Nashville with rain on the way. Today’s high is 66, but on Thanksgiving? Cooler. A high of just 47, and Thanksgiving night it will dip below freezing to 26!   THE WEEKEND I got out and heard a little Irish music on Saturday night.   That’s my friend and co-writer in the middle of the stage, Sean McNamara, with his band Nosey Flynn . Sean is the owner of McNamara’s Irish Pub and Restaurant which is a great place to go for Irish food, music, and one of these.   I love Irish music, and the big guy on the left in the picture of the band is a 3-time Irish champion for best fiddle player. The band is just awesome and fun to listen to. I’m glad I went and got into the Irish spirit.   MORE TELLURIDE Well, this is fun. This is my friend Caroline Owens promoting her current hit...
