1 Guy 2 Girl Song...Mo Mo The Missouri Monster...Hollywood Stuff

BILL BLOG Wednesday July 31, 2024   Last Day of July and it’s a “Hump Day” Wednesday. And the last day of the month came in with a “bang” as it got really loud here last night with thunder and lightning going off for quite a while and that brought some more rain. One thunder clap last night was so loud it jolted me. Man. Looks like that may be going away as they’re calling for sunshine and “hot” almighty today. 93 mixed with a high heat index in Nashville.   YESTERDAY I sat in a writing room with two talented young singer-writers. My friend Kennedy Scott joined me for the third time to write.   And she brought Victoria Camp with her, a Tuscaloosa, Alabama native and the three of us penned our first song together. Victoria is going to be singing some with the trio “ Three Times A Lady ” trio that feature incredible three-part harmony from the three members that now includes Victoria for some of their show dates. And we wrote a song that will feature each

A Great Review...New Album Release...Millionaires

BILL BLOG Tuesday July 30, 2024     Tuesday…and it’s the next to last day of July already. High temperature in Nashville today will be 92 and a heat wave warning has been issued to go with that. It’s going to be a Right and Left Guard kind of day.   YESTERDAY It was a day of catching up and starting a new song with my friend Katrina Burgoyne . It’s the first time we’ve sat down to create something new after she and her husband Steve created a baby girl together 3 months ago that they named “Poppy”.      The two of them are going through all the joy and the challenge that comes with having a first baby while trying to balance two careers. Not easy. Katrina is playing music 4 or 5 nights a week, and her husband Steve is a talented musician who is also a videographer shooting music videos like this one that they did for my friend Alex Miller . It was great getting to catch up with her and start a new “fun” song together.   KRISTY COX Bluegrass Today

BILL BLOG Monday July 29, 2024   Hello Monday morning. How did you get here so fast again? Starting to warm up in Nashville again after several rainy days. 88 for high today.   THE WEEKEND It was an unbusy weekend here in Nashville but I did spend a lot of time driving…unexpectedly. Saturday I was out and had to find a new way to get home as I-40 was completely SHUT DOWN. When the police cars showed up barricading the entrance, there were no detour signs. What in the world?! And then I remembered that Trump was in town to speak at a Bitcoin conference downtown. My route home would normally take me right by BNA airport. Normally. Not Saturday. My 10 minutes away from home thing turned into an hour adventure slow poking down two lane roads.  He came to Nashville to tell us not to sell our Bitcoins at a big bitcoin conference held here. Well, if I had any Bitcoins…maybe. I have held onto my daughter’s Beanie baby collection. Does that count?   SUMMER OLYMPIC

Funny Song...Music Luncheon...Gladiator

BILL BLOG Friday July 26, 2024   Friday morning…rolling into a late July weekend. 82 for the high in Twang Town today with a little rain in the mix.   YESTERDAY I had a very full Wednesday that started with writing a new funny song with young Ethan Phillips who walked into the writing room and said something in conversation that led us to writing what he said about women being compared to a volcano. We may have had WAY too much fun writing that thought. And it could very well turn out to be a song I put on my set list from time to time when I’m out performing.   LUNCH We finished up in time for me to run down south of Nashville to have lunch with my friends Linda Davis & Lang Scott and our mutual friends Richard & Donna Lynch who run a wonderful venue in Waynesville, Ohio, just north of Cincinnati called the “Keep It Country Farm”.   Linda, Lang and myself did a show for them last year and had the best time. They turned part of their f

Fast Songwriters...A Nomination...New Show

BILL BLOG Thursday July 25, 2024   And here comes a Thursday. 83 will be our high today. We’ve had some rain over the past few days, and a few more days of it are on tap…literally.   YESTERDAY I got to write with Thomm Jutz again and we got on a roll out at his studio and wrote not one but TWO songs yesterday to add to our growing catalog. One from an idea I brought, a second from an idea Thomm had in his back pocket. Most of my co-writers will tell you that I tend to be a fairly fast writer but Thomm is even faster. Unreal actually. So writing with him is always a great experience because we’re kind of on the same train.   Thomm moved over here from Germany several years ago now. He studied classical music in Germany…learned to play piano and flute before he heard Bobby Bare in concert one evening in Germany singing the old classic “ Detroit City ” that Mel Tillis wrote and decided at that moment to learn guitar and write country-folk-Americana type son
