BILL BLOG

Last Hump Day of the month…heck, last day of the month! And we sort of rumbled into the last day with loud storms rolling through last night. We were on the edge of that storm that spawned some twisters in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas last night. We got off lucky.
YESTERDAY
I wrote a new bluegrass song with my longtime friend Steve Dean at my publishing company. When I walked into Billy Blue/Daywind yesterday, coming out of our recording studio was Joe Mullins of Joe Mullins and the Radio Ramblers. I’d never met Joe, and knew he had a radio-music background much like I’ve had. Found out he still has ownership in three small radio stations in Ohio, and that his Father was a legendary broadcaster I knew of “Moon Mullins” who worked radio for years in Middletown, Ohio just north of Cincinnati where I worked on air for 12 years at WUBE Radio.
I also found out that Joe and his great band are about to record a Christmas song I wrote with my Rick Lang called “Shepherd Boy” so that was good news. Joe obviously has a fun side to him as well, and there’s proof of that in this video and song “Bacon in My Beans” that another friend Jerry Salley helped write.
So Tuesday was a productive day on a couple of fronts.

Complete details on all of these shows available on the calendar here on the website.
ONE MORE CHRISTMAS SONGS
Here’s another Christmas song that I helped write. This one is brand new, just recorded by Angus Gill in Australia who I co-wrote this funny idea with that he brought to the table, “Cheapskate Christmas”. Enjoy.
VIRUS NOTES
A new study suggests that the Pfizer vaccine’s effectiveness decreases with age.
Some Republicans are now demanding Naval Academy transparency after unvaxxed midshipmen were allegedly denied their diplomas.
CYBER MONDAY
Yesterday a bunch of folks bought stuff online. A new record 11 BILLION spent by clicking a keyboard button or two. Pretty sure that old Santa’s sleigh looks like an Amazon Prime truck these days.
Someone describes Cyber Monday as the day when you can get a great deal on something that you didn’t want yesterday. Some truth to that.
JUST ME?
Does anyone else feel out of touch because they have no interest in watching the World Cup Soccer thing that’s going on? I’ve tried. I’ve gone to a couple of games. I just can’t get into it. And they say it’s the world’s game. Sigh. I think I’ve actually watched more cornhole games on TV than soccer. Wake me if someone ever scores.
SUE HAPPY
There are folks who spend a lot of their time just looking for someone or something to sue. That’s my belief. Proof of that comes with the story of the woman suing Kraft. She claims their Velveeta Shells and Cheese take too long to make. The box says 3 and a half minutes. She says it actually takes longer, so she’s suing for false advertisement I guess. I believe she’s the reason someone coined the phrase, “get a life”.
With that news, I’ll be suing Dollar General Store because they’re charging more than a buck for some things.
HEADLINE OF THE DAY
“Southwest Passenger Claimed That Jesus Told Her To Open The Plane Door In Mid Flight.” Uh huh. That Jesus, gee what a prankster huh?
TODAY
My writing appointment with Jenny Tolman cancelled. She’s gonna be a first time Mom somewhere around Christmas and it’s time to concentrate on that right now. So happy for her and her husband Dave Brainard. A Christmas gift to beat all others.
Have a great Wednesday!
