Friday November 14, 2025
Friday morning is here…bring on the weekend. It will warm up to 75 today in Nashville.
YESTERDAY
It was a “catch-up” day at home after returning from the Frank Brown Songwriters Festival that wrapped with our Freedom Sings USA concert this past Tuesday night. Can’t think of a better way to wrap up a road trip than by saluting our veterans.
The official photographer for the Festival snapped some great pictures at this event.
Thank you, Molly, for lending your lens to capture these photos.
UPCOMING
Friday night, November 21, I’m at Starstruck Farms, Reba’s old place that is now a great entertainment venue in Lebanon, TN. It’s a 7 pm dinner show with “Hits & Grins” featuring Steve Dean, Victoria, Venier and myself.
Saturday evening, December 6, I’ll be part of the “Faith, Love, and Laughter" concert series in Stephens City, Virginia at the Valley Bible Church with Linda Davis and Lang Scott. Our third time playing this event.
Sunday, December 7, I’m at the Wayne Theatre in Waynesboro, Virginia, with Lang and Linda for a 7 pm show there.
And that’s it for 2025. Home for a bit!
DOES HE LOVE YOU
The Chamber of Commerce and a local radio station in Waynesboro is having a little contest that involves our “Evening in the Round” show. 96.
Great idea. Thank you, WSIG Radio, for this promotion.

Someone is going to win a chance to step on stage Sunday, December 7, and sing the huge hit “Does He Love You” with Linda. Love that.
TELLURIDE
More good news for the Bluegrass song “Telluride” from Caroline Owens that I
wrote with Andrea Pearson. The song just entered a second Bluegrass Chart in
the #8 slot. This, after already being #1 on the Banjo Radio Chart. Awesome.
Thank you, Michelle Lee, for loving our spirited song!
SONG OF THE DAY
I was out running errands yesterday and had Sirius-XM on when this tune came on.
Thank you to “Bluegrass Junction” for playing this song I wrote with Laura Leigh Jones so much, “The Sun Can’t Stop The Rain”, which will be the “Song for the Day”.
HEALTH NOTES
A health expert points out the benefits of drinking a cup of carrot juice daily. It can boost your heart, bone, eye, immune, and skin health.
Health officials in the UK are warning that this year’s flu season for the Northern Hemisphere is expected to be particularly severe, and that the US is not adequately prepared.
A dental expert suggests that we smell our floss. If it smells bad, it may indicate plaque buildup with bacterial accumulation, food impaction, or gum inflammation.
HERE’S YOUR SIGN
Well, there’s that.
GOODBYE PENNY
No more pennies. The last penny was just minted on November 12. No more. Items will now be rounded out to a nickel. So what the heck do we do with all those that we have? Spend them, cash them, or donate them seems to be the choices. I might keep one or two just to check my tire tread every now and then.
MOVING TO…
Travel and Leisure just listed the Top 5 countries Americans want to move to for 2026 for cost of living, safety, and health care.
Canada is the top choice, followed by England, Japan, Ireland, and then Switzerland.

TODAY
I’m back at my publishing company for the first time in a bit, writing today with Stuie French of the French Family Band. The family has just recorded a new album that will feature 3 songs I helped write. Two of those with Stuie, who is the Dad in this talented musical family, and one with the son..“Sonny”. And one that Mom Camille just sings the heck out of. Can’t wait for folks to hear this talented family from Australia-New Zealand singing some of these songs.
And then an open weekend at home! I think there might be some football on.
Have a great weekend!
